Studio Markunpoika, run by Finnish designer Tuomas Markunpoika, created a series of vessels carved from hundreds of hexagon-shaped pencils glued together and carved out using a machine lathe.

Pencils are utilized when giving form to our thoughts, illustrating our wishes and ideas. They are inseparably fused with craft and arts,” writes Markunpoika. “‘Amalgamated’ is a collection which explores the relationship of a mass produces ‘tool’ and its individual purpose. The beauty of the pencil an object seems to go unnoticed if utilized only for their primary purpose.

Felt Flower Bouquet | Something Turquoise
Though I’m not planning on getting married anytime soon (yeah, you need a groom for that I’m told!), I still want to make this gorgeous bouquet. I’m all about felt and the amazing colours and creations you can make with it, and this is a great example. This gorgeous bouquet would be so lovely as a decoration in your house or you could make a few singular flowers and attach a pin on the back to make a brooch. But of course, if you’re getting married this would make a gorgeous bouquet, and even better - you get to keep it afterwards! Just FYI, there aren’t any templates for the flowers, but you should be able to eyeball the patterns. Lovely!
